This Friday, May 3rd, Dirtyphonics is bringing their Irreverence tour to the main room of Guvernment alongside their new stage 'The Crown' (pictured above) which was built by the legendary PK sound company. The four french DJs and producers have been touring North America by bus since their debut album 'Irreverance' came out on March 19th on Dim Mak, making 30 stops all together. Irreverence shows a definite growth in the sound these four have developed in the past few years, bringing the sounds of electro, dubstep, house and drum and bass all onto one 10 track LP. With help from the likes of Steve Aoki, Foreign Beggars, and Modstep. From when one of their first hits 'French Fuck' was picked up by Shimon's AudioPorn Records to now releasing an LP on one of the biggest independent EDM labels out there, Steve Aoki's Dim Mak Recordings, growth and diversity has been at the base of their success.
Not only famous for the tracks, such as the ever classic Vandals to their newest hit Dirty, the foursome are also known for their extreme energy on stage, crowd surfing, and most recently... for stamping their logo on the boobs, foreheads, backs, asses and all other exposed body parts of their raging fans in the crowd. If you're wondering what a night of Dirtyphonics entails check out their first episode of Classy as F*** which chronicals the first leg of their North American tour. The antics these guys bring to the stage shows that after years of touring as a group, their love for the craft has remained the same or only grown. The foursome has brought their extreme levels of energy to Toronto a few times in the past, showcasing their mixing skills via their DJ sets. However, May 3rd marks the first LIVE show the group has done in our city. The set up they are bringing to GUV's main stage is epic in all senses of the term. Within 'The Crown' the four frenchmen will be operating on 4CDJs (2000's), 2 DJMs (900nexus), 2 Native Instrument Machines and 2 kaos pads. Combine all that hardware with eight different hands and four energetic personalities and we are guaranteed a wicked performance.
Take some time to get to know their newest beats on their album Irreverence via the album stream below. Also make sure to check out some tunes from their touring supporting acts Le Castle Vania, and ECT!ECT! via their soundcloud. Our local DNB don DJ LUSH will also be gracing the GUV stage Friday night!
